British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP)
Programs
Base Category Program
The Base Category Program stream is best suited for experienced entrepreneurs who wish to immigrate to British Columbia and are prepared to invest in and actively manage a legitimate business. Applicants may establish a new business or take over and continue developing an existing business in British Columbia.Personal Requirements
To qualify for the Program, the Principal Applicant must:
- Have a verifiable personal net worth of at least CAD$600,000;
- Have or be eligible for legal immigration status in Canada;
- Have been lawfully admitted into the current country of residence;
- Have a post-secondary education credential OR experience as an active business owner-manager with 100% ownership of the business for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years;
- Demonstrate business and/or management experience of:
- More than three (3) years of experience in the past ten (10) years as an active business owner-manager; OR
- More than four (4) years of experience in the past ten (10) years as a senior manager; OR
- A combination of at least one (1) year of experience as an active business owner-manager and at least two (2) years of experience as a senior manager.
- Demonstrate intent to actively manage the business;
- Demonstrate intent to reside within 100 kilometres of the business;
- Demonstrate intent to reside in British Columbia for at least 75% of the time while on a work permit;
Business, Job and Investment Requirements
Along with the Personal Requirements listed above, in order to qualify for the Program, the Principal Applicant must:
- Establish an eligible new business or purchase and develop an existing business;
- Make an eligible personal investment of a minimum of CAD$200,000 in the business;
- Demonstrate ownership of at least one-third of the business (if proposed ownership is less than one-third of the business, an equity investment of at least CAD$1 million is required);
- If opening a new business, create at least one (1) new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in the business within 365 days of date of arrival.
- If purchasing an existing business, maintain the number of existing jobs in the business as well as create at least one (1) new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in the business within 365 days of date of arrival;
- Demonstrate that the required number of full-time jobs have been employed for at least 180 days before submitting the Final Report.
Upon approval of the application, Applicants will be required to sign a Performance Agreement with British Columbia.
Key Staff Applicant Requirements
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements may propose one key staff member whose expertise is crucial to the success of the proposed business. Key staff members will be eligible to apply for a Canadian work permit and may be eligible to be nominated for permanent residence. In order to be eligible, the key staff applicant must:
- Have education and experience consistent with the prospective occupation in British Columbia as senior manager, or in a professional or technical position;
- If work experience and education are not specifically identified in the proposed position, possess at least two (2) years of post-secondary education;
- Have worked with the Principal Applicant in a senior position for at least one (1) year in the last three (3) years;
- Have the proposed position fall under NOC Skill Types 0 or A.
Key staff applicants are also required to sign a Performance Agreement with British Columbia if approved.
If the Principal Applicant is proposing a key staff member, the Principal Applicant must:
- Make an eligible personal investment of at least CAD$400,000;
- If opening a new business, create at least three (3) new, permanent, full-time jobs for Canadian citizens and/or permanent residents;
- If purchasing an existing business, maintain the number of existing jobs in the business as well as create at least three (3) new full-time jobs for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- Offer wage to key staff member that is equal to or greater than the median for that occupation in British Columbia.
Partnership with a BC PNP Co-Registrant
Applicants may choose to partner with another BC PNP co-registrant under one business proposal. Each co-registrant must meet the Personal and Business, Job and Investment Requirements listed above to be eligible. Each co-registrant will be assessed separately.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If proposing to purchase an established business, if the Applicant has not identified the target business, or if the business has not been in operation under same owner for at least five (5) years;
- If the Applicant does not meet the minimum point requirements for any section;
- If the Applicant does not score at least 32 points in the business concept section.
Acquiring a Work Permit and Permanent Residence
The Base Category Program stream is a multi-step process requiring registration and application to the BC PNP first. BC PNP will invite the highest-scoring registrants to submit a full application. Upon approval of the application, BC PNP will issue the Applicant a work permit support letter which will allow the Applicant to apply for a two (2) year work permit and begin implementing the business plan and making the required investments.
Applicants must submit a Final Report at least 18 months after receiving a work permit for determination on whether the terms and conditions of the Performance Agreement were met. If the determination is positive, Applicants are nominated for permanent residence and may apply with eligible family members to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class.
Application Processing Time
Registrations are typically scored within six (6) weeks and application decisions are usually made within four (4) months. Final Reports are usually assessed within four (4) months. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees class are currently 15 to 19 months.
Regional Pilot Program
The Regional Pilot Program stream was implemented to attract entrepreneurs to work with participating regional communities by establishing new businesses that align with the communities’ economic development priorities. This stream was designed to encourage investment outside urban areas and will be administered for a period of two (2) years.
Communities may refer foreign entrepreneurs to the BC PNP which will place their application in a prioritized registration pool. Entrepreneurs will be required to visit the community to present their business concept to the designated contact person prior to receiving a referral.
Personal Requirements
To qualify for the Program, the Principal Applicant must:
- Have a verifiable personal net worth of at least CAD$300,000;
- Have or be eligible for legal immigration status in Canada;
- Have been lawfully admitted into the current country of residence;
- Have a post-secondary education credential OR experience as an active business owner-manager with 100% ownership of the business for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years;
- Have basic English or French language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language BenchArnulf level four (4) or higher in each category on a valid language test;
- Demonstrate business and/or management experience of:
- More than three (3) years of experience in the past five (5) years as an active business owner-manager; OR
- More than four (4) years of experience in the past five (5) years as a senior manager; OR
- A combination of at least one (1) year of experience as an active business owner-manager and at least two (2) years of experience as a senior manager.
- Demonstrate intent to actively manage the business;
- Demonstrate intent to reside within the boundaries of the community that is supporting the application;
- Demonstrate intent to reside in British Columbia for at least 75% of the time while on a work permit.
Business, Job and Investment Requirements
Along with the Personal Requirements listed above, in order to qualify for the Program, the Principal Applicant must:
- Establish a new eligible business in a participating community in British Columbia that aligns with one of the economic priorities as identified by the community;
- Make an eligible personal investment of a minimum of CAD$100,000 in the business;
- Demonstrate ownership of at least 51% of the business;
- Create at least one (1) new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in the business within 365 days of date of arrival;
- Demonstrate that the required number of full-time jobs have been employed for at least 180 days before submitting the Final Report.
Upon approval of the application, Applicants will be required to sign a Performance Agreement with British Columbia.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant is prohibited from entering Canada;
- If the Applicant has not been legally admitted into their current country of residence;
- If the Applicant is in Canada and is out of status or has been working without authorization;
- If the Applicant has an unresolved refugee claim in Canada or is under a removal order in or outside of Canada.
Acquiring a Work Permit and Permanent Residence
The Regional Pilot Program stream is a multi-step process requiring registration and application to the BC PNP first. BC PNP will invite the highest-scoring registrants to submit a full application. Upon approval of the application, BC PNP will issue the Applicant a work permit support letter which will allow the Applicant to apply for a two (2) year work permit and begin implementing the business plan and making the required investments.
Upon fulfilling the conditions stipulated in the Performance Agreement, the Applicant must submit a final report to demonstrate how the terms and conditions were met. If the determination is positive Applicants are nominated for permanent residence and may apply with eligible family members to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class.
Application Processing Time

Strategic Projects
The Strategic Projects stream is best suited for foreign corporations that have found strategic investment opportunities in British Columbia and wish to carry out activities that are essential to the development of their core business. This stream allows foreign corporations to permanently relocate key staff to British Columbia and apply for provincial nomination to support the permanent residence of up to five (5) current senior employees, who will manage the business in British Columbia.
Program Requirements
Foreign corporations must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for this stream:
- Make an equity investment of at least CAD$500,000 towards the corporation’s operations in British Columbia;
- Establish a new or purchase and develop an eligible business in British Columbia;
- Create at least three (3) new full-time positions for Canadian citizens and/or permanent residents per each key staff member proposed.
Upon approval of the application, the corporation’s designated signing authority will be required to sign a Performance Agreement with the province of British Columbia.
Company Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the program, the foreign corporation must:
- Be well-established;
- Be in good financial standing;
- Have enough funds to make the required investment;
- Demonstrate capacity for international expansion into British Columbia;
- Provide significant economic benefit to the province through a high value investment.
Key Staff Member Eligibility
To be eligible to apply as key staff, Applicants must:
- Currently be senior employees of the foreign enterprise who have the necessary qualifications and expertise to establish and operate the business in British Columbia;
- In the operation in British Columbia, be hired in a permanent, full-time capacity in an executive or senior managerial position, or have specialized knowledge that is crucial to the prospective operation;
- Be offered a wage that is proportionate to their expertise and consistent with industry and corporate compensation structures.
Upon approval of the application, each key staff member will also be required to sign a Performance Agreement with the province of British Columbia.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the type of business proposed is on the list of ineligible businesses;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant is prohibited from entering Canada;
- If the Applicant has not been legally admitted into their current country of residence;
- If the Applicant is in Canada and is out of status or has been working without authorization;
- If the Applicant has an unresolved refugee claim in Canada or is under a removal order in or outside of Canada.
Acquiring a Work Permit and Permanent Residence
The Strategic Projects stream is a multi-step process requiring registration and application to the BC PNP first. Upon approval of the application, BC PNP will issue Applicants a work permit support letter which will allow the Applicants to apply for a work permit and begin implementing the business plan and making the required investments. Applicants must submit a completed arrival report form within 60 days of arriving in British Columbia.
Upon fulfilling the conditions stipulated in the Performance Agreement, the foreign corporation must submit a final report to demonstrate how the terms and conditions were met. If the determination is positive, key staff members who have also met the terms and conditions are nominated for permanent residence and may apply to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class.
Application Processing Time
There are no set application processing times for this stream. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees Class are currently 15 to 19 months.
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
Programs
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) offers three (3) provincial entrepreneurial programs through which Applicants may immigrate to Canada. These programs are a multi-step process, allowing Applicants and eligible family members to be nominated to apply for Canadian permanent residency.
Entrepreneur Pathway
The MPNP Entrepreneur Pathway stream is designed to attract qualified business people who intend to move to Manitoba and are interested in establishing a new business, or acquiring or partnering in an existing business.
Personal Eligibility Requirements
To be able to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the MPNP, the Principal Applicant must:
- Have a verifiable net worth of at least CAD$500,000 that has been accumulated through legal means;
- Make a personal investment towards establishment and operation of the business of:
- At least CAD$250,000, if the proposed business is located in the Manitoba Capital Region;
- At least CAD$150,000, if the proposed business is located outside of the Manitoba Capital Region.
- If invited to submit an application, apply for and submit a final net-worth evaluation report by the given deadline;
- Demonstrate business ownership and/or senior management experience of at least three (3) years in the past five (5) years;
- Have basic English or French language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language BenchArnulf level five (5) or higher in each category on a valid language test;
- Have an education credential of a minimum of Canadian high school diploma or equivalent;
- If completing a business research visit, complete visit no more than one (1) year prior to submission of an EOI;
- Demonstrate intent to actively manage the business from the place of business;
- Demonstrate intent to reside within 100 kilometres of the business and be physically present in Manitoba for at least 80% of the time;
- Submit a Business Plan.
Upon approval of the application, Applicants will be required sign a Performance Agreement with the government of Manitoba.
Eligibility Requirements for Business
To qualify for the stream, the Principal Applicant must have ownership of at least one-third of the business and provide active and on-going participation in the everyday management of the business. Furthermore, the proposed business must:
- Be established, purchased or partnered into within the first 24 months of arrival in Canada;
- Be in operation for at least six (6) months immediately prior to submitting a Final Report to the MPNP;
- Be owned, controlled and financially supported by the Applicant at all material times;
- Meet the legal requirements of the community in which the business operates;
- Be a for-profit entity with the purpose of making a profit from active income through the sale of goods and/or services;
- Comply with all applicable federal, provincial or municipal legal, regulatory or licensing requirements that govern the operation;
- If opening a new business, staff at least one (1) Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Manitoba and not related to the Applicant with full-time employment for at least six (6) continuous months prior to submitting the Final Report to the MPNP;
- If purchasing an existing business, preserve all existing permanent full-time jobs with commitment to maintain the existing wages and employment terms for at least six (6) months prior to submitting the Final Report to the MPNP.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant is prohibited from entering Canada;
- If the Applicant is currently a Live-In Caregiver residing in Canada;
- If the Applicant is currently a temporary foreign worker residing and working in a province other than Manitoba;
- If the Applicant is a spouse of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- If the Applicant has been refused by the MPNP within the last six (6) months, and is unable to address the reason(s) for refusal;
- If the Applicant has an immigration application in process with any other provincial immigration program in Canada;
- If the Applicant is claiming refugee status in Canada, is involved in a federal appeal or is under a removal order in or outside of Canada.
Acquiring a Work Permit and Permanent Residence
The MPNP Entrepreneur Pathway stream is a multi-step process requiring registration and application to the MPNP first. The MPNP will invite the highest-scoring registrants to submit a full application. Upon approval of the application, MPNP will issue the Applicant(s) a work permit support letter which allows the Applicant(s) to apply for a work permit and begin implementing the business plan and making the required investments.
Applicants must report their arrival within 30 days after arriving in Manitoba on a work permit and submit their Final Report to the MPNP no later than 20 months after arriving. Upon being found to have successfully operated the business in accordance with the Performance Agreement for a minimum of six (6) months, Applicants will be issued a nomination from the MPNP. Upon nomination, Applicants and their eligible family members may apply for permanent residence to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class.
Application Processing Time
There are no set application processing times for the MPNP. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees Class are currently 15 to 19 months.
Farm Investor Pathway
The MPNP Farm Investor Pathway stream is designed to attract Applicants who are interested in moving to rural Manitoba to establish and operate a farm operation, and who have verified farm business experience and sufficient capital to invest.
Personal Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the program, the Principal Applicant must:
- Have a verifiable net worth of at least CAD$500,000 that has been accumulated through legal means;
- Make a personal investment of at least CAD$300,000 towards establishment and operation of the farm business;
- If approved for nomination, make a refundable deposit of CAD$75,000 to the Manitoba Development Corporation;
- Demonstrate farm ownership and operation experience of at least three (3) years;
- Complete a Farm Business Research Visit to Manitoba;
- Submit a Farm Business Plan;
- Demonstrate adaptability relating to specified farming skills and practices.
If approved for nomination, Applicants are required to establish the farm business and make all the required investments within two (2) years of landing in Canada. To receive the refundable deposit back, Applicants must submit a report to have the investment verified.
Farm Business Investment Requirements
To be eligible for the program, the Applicant must make an investment that satisfies the following criteria:
- The farm must be in active primary agricultural production, be economically feasible and must not be out of production;
- The farm land must not be leased to others;
- Farm land must not be bought specifically for land value appreciation purposes;
- The farm must be a for-profit entity with the purpose of making a profit from ongoing and recurring business activity;
- If investing in an already existing farm business, the Applicant must control at least one-third of the equity, or make at least CAD$1 million equity investment in the business.
Applicants are required to live on the farm in rural Manitoba and actively participate in the day-to-day management and operation of the business.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant has close relatives and/or children residing in other province(s) in Canada;
- If the Applicant or any dependent family member, whether accompanying or not, has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant or any dependent family member, whether accompanying or not, has a serious medical condition;
- If the Applicant is prohibited from entering Canada;
- If the Applicant is in Canada illegally;
- If the Applicant is currently a Live-In Caregiver residing in Canada;
- If the Applicant is currently a temporary foreign worker residing and working in a province other than Manitoba;
- If the Applicant is a spouse of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- If the Applicant has been refused by the MPNP within the last 12 months;
- If the Applicant has been refused by another provincial or federal immigration program in Canada and the reasons for refusal apply to the MPNP;
- If the Applicant has an immigration application in process with any other provincial immigration program in Canada;
- If the Applicant is claiming refugee status in Canada, is involved in a federal appeal or is under a removal order in or outside of Canada;
- If the Applicant has unresolved custody or child support disputes affecting members of the family.
Acquiring Permanent Residence
The MPNP Farm Investor Pathway stream is a multi-step process requiring submission of a Farm Business Concept to the MPNP first. The MPNP will invite Applicants whose Business Concepts have potential for long-term economic benefit to rural Manitoba to attend an interview. If the interview is successful, the Applicant will receive a Letter of Advice to Apply to submit a full application for nomination. If the application is deemed successful, the Applicant receives a nomination from the MPNP.
Upon nomination, Applicants and their eligible family members may apply for permanent residence to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class. Applicants must report their arrival within 30 days of landing as a permanent resident, and have two (2) years to establish the farm business.
Application Processing Time
There are no set application processing times for the MPNP. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees Class are currently 15 to 19 months.
International Student Entrepreneur Pilot
The MPNP Farm Investor Pathway stream is designed to attract Applicants who are interested in moving to rural Manitoba to establish and operate a farm operation, and who have verified farm business experience and sufficient capital to invest.

If the application is deemed successful, the Applicant receives a nomination from the MPNP.
Upon nomination, Applicants and their eligible family members may apply for permanent residence to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class. Applicants must report their arrival within 30 days of landing as a permanent resident, and have two (2) years to establish the farm business.

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)
Ways of Acquiring Citizenship
Entrepreneurial Stream
The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP) Entrepreneurial Stream is designed to attract experienced entrepreneurs who wish to immigrate to New Brunswick permanently to establish, operate and actively manage a business.
Personal Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to apply under this stream, the Principal Applicant must:
- Have an eligible connection to New Brunswick (i.e. complete an exploratory visit to New Brunswick, participate in an Entrepreneurial Stream information session, etc.)
- Exploratory visits must be completed within 24 months prior to submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI), and must be for at least five full business days;
- Be between 22-55 years of age;
- Have a verifiable personal net worth at least CAD$600,000, of which CAD$300,000 must be liquid and unencumbered funds;
- Be able to invest at least CAD$250,000 of personal funds to establish a business in New Brunswick;
- Make a CAD$100,000 refundable deposit;
- Have basic English or French language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language BenchArnulf level five (5) or higher in each category on a valid language test;
- Have completed at least two (2) years of full-time post-secondary education;
- Demonstrate at least three (3) out of five (5) years of experience in managing and owning a business or have at least five (5) out of five (5) years of experience in a senior business management role;
- Demonstrate intent to permanently reside in New Brunswick and actively manage the day-to-day activities of the operation;
- Submit a detailed business concept proposal;
- If invited to submit an application, apply for and submit a final net-worth evaluation report by the given deadline.
Successful Applicants are required sign a Performance Agreement with the government of New Brunswick. In order to receive the deposit back, Applicants must establish their business and meet the terms of the Performance Agreement within two (2) years of landing in New Brunswick.
Eligibility Requirements for Business
To qualify for the stream, the Principal Applicant must have ownership of at least one-third of the business. Furthermore, the proposed business must:
- Be the continued operation of an existing business or the creation of a new business;
- Be of economic benefit to the province;
- Be established as a sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation;
- Be a private-sector, for-profit entity with the purpose of making a profit from active income through the sale of goods and/or services;
- Be considered a permanent business in New Brunswick;
- Create at least two (2) full-time job opportunities for Canadian citizens or permanent residents living in New Brunswick and not related to the Applicant;
- Comply with all applicable federal, provincial or municipal legal, regulatory or licensing requirements that govern the operation;
- Participate in site visits to verify compliance with the terms and condition as outlined in the Performance Agreement.
Key Staff Applicant Requirements
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements may propose one key staff member whose expertise is crucial to the success of the proposed business. Key staff members will be eligible to apply for a Canadian work permit and may be eligible to be nominated for permanent residence. In order to be eligible, the key staff applicant must:
- Have education and experience consistent with the prospective occupation in British Columbia as senior manager, or in a professional or technical position;
- If work experience and education are not specifically identified in the proposed position, possess at least two (2) years of post-secondary education;
- Have worked with the Principal Applicant in a senior position for at least one (1) year in the last three (3) years;
- Have the proposed position fall under NOC Skill Types 0 or A.
Key staff applicants are also required to sign a Performance Agreement with British Columbia if approved.
Purchasing an Existing Business
If the applicant is interested in purchasing an existing business in New Brunswick, the applicant must demonstrate that the business meets the following conditions:
- The existing business must have been in continuous operation by the same owner for the last three (3) years prior to purchase;
- The previous owner of the business must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- The business must be purchased at a proven fair market value;
- The business must demonstrate a net profit for at least two (2) of the three (3) previous years;
- All existing permanent full-time jobs must be preserved with commitment to maintain similar wages and employment terms;
- The business must not be in receivership and/or must not have filed for bankruptcy in the three (3) years prior to purchase.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation or if the Applicant has ever been refused by another immigration program in Canada for misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If the Applicant is unable to prove intent to reside and actively manage the business in New Brunswick;
- If the Applicant is a passive investor;
- If the Applicant has another active application in process through another immigration program in Canada;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant has not been legally admitted into their current country of residence;
- If the Applicant is in Canada and is out of status or has been working without authorization;
- If the Applicant has an unresolved humanitarian and compassionate (H&C) claim in Canada or are a failed H&C claimant living in Canada;
- If the Applicant has an unresolved refugee claim in Canada, is a failed refugee claimant living in Canada or is under a removal order in or outside of Canada;
Acquiring Permanent Residence
The Entrepreneurial Stream is a multi-step process requiring registration and submission of an EOI to the NB PNP first. The NB PNP will invite the highest-scoring registrants to submit a full application. Upon approval of the application, Applicants will receive a nomination from the NB PNP to support the application for permanent residence. Applicants have 60 days from issuance of the nomination to sign the Performance Agreement and make the CAD$100,000 deposit.
Within six (6) months of receiving the nomination, Applicants must apply to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class. Upon receipt of the permanent resident visas, Applicants must move to New Brunswick to begin establishing the business. Applicants are required to report their landing date within 30 days of landing and to participate in meetings with the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour at certain time intervals throughout the business establishment period.
An application for a refund of the CAD$100,000 deposit can be made three (3) years following the Applicant’s landing date in Canada or one (1) year after the business commencement date, whichever comes first.
Application Processing Time
There are no set application processing times for the NB PNP. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees Class are currently 15 to 19 months.
Post Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream
The NB PNP Post Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream is designed to assist entrepreneurs who have studied and started or acquired a business in New Brunswick to obtain Canadian permanent residency through nomination. Applicants must intend to settle in New Brunswick permanently.
Personal Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to apply under this stream, the Principal Applicant must:
- Be between 22 and 40 years of age;
- Have basic English or French language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language BenchArnulf level seven (7) or higher in each category on a valid language test;
- Have completed a full-time New Brunswick post-secondary degree or diploma of at least two (2) years from a recognized university or community college while residing legally in New Brunswick;
- Have owned and operated a business in New Brunswick for a minimum of one (1) full year;
- Have 100% ownership of business equity;
- Have a valid post-graduation work permit;
- Demonstrate intent and ability to settle and reside in New Brunswick.
Eligibility Requirements for Business
To qualify for the stream, the Principal Applicant must reside in New Brunswick, have 100% ownership of the equity of the business and provide active and on-going day-to-day management and direction of the business. Furthermore, the business must:
- Have been started as a career objective (not for purposes of immigration);
- Have been in operation for a minimum of one (1) year prior to application;
- Be producing revenue and earning sufficient profits to allow the Applicant to establish themselves in New Brunswick;
- Create significant economic benefit to the province;
- Be established as a sole proprietorship or corporation;
- Be a for-profit entity with the purpose of making a profit from active income through the sale of goods and/or services;
- Be considered a permanent business in New Brunswick;
- Create at least one (1) full-time job opportunity for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in New Brunswick and not related to the Applicant;
- Comply with all applicable federal, provincial or municipal legal, regulatory or licensing requirements that govern the operation;
- Be in operation and not sold for at least three (3) years after receiving permanent residence in Canada.
In addition to the above requirements, the Principal Applicant must receive compensation in the form of a salary from the business which must at least meet the Low-Income Cut-Off (LICO) as defined by Statistics Canada plus 10%.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation or if the Applicant has ever been refused by another immigration program in Canada for misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant has a connection to another Canadian province/territory, and no connection to New Brunswick;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If the Applicant is currently engaged in full-time post-secondary education;
- If the Applicant is unable to prove intent to reside and actively manage the business in New Brunswick;
- If the Applicant is a passive investor;
- If the Applicant has another active application in process through another immigration program in Canada;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant is prohibited from entering Canada;
- If the Applicant has not been legally admitted into their current country of residence;
- If the Applicant is in Canada and is out of status or has been working without authorization;

Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)
Programs
Entrepreneur Stream
The NSNP Entrepreneur Stream is best suited for experienced business owners or senior business managers who are interested in starting or acquiring a business in Nova Scotia, and who intend to actively manage the business while residing in the province.
Personal Eligibility Requirements
In order to be able to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the NSNP, the Principal Applicant must:
- Be at least 21 years of age;
- Have a verifiable personal net worth of at least CAD$600,000 that has been accumulated through legal means;
- Be willing and able to invest at least CAD$150,000 of personal funds to establish a business in Nova Scotia;
- If invited to submit an application, apply for and submit a final net-worth evaluation report by the given deadline;
- Demonstrate business ownership experience of:
- At least three (3) years of experience in the past ten (10) years including at least one- third of equity in the business; OR
- More than five (5) years of experience in the past ten (10) years as a senior business manager.
- Have basic English or French language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language BenchArnulf level five (5) or higher in each category on a valid language test;
- Have an education credential of a minimum of Canadian high school diploma or equivalent;
- Demonstrate intent to actively manage the business from the place of business;
- Demonstrate intent to reside in Nova Scotia;
- Submit a Business Establishment Plan.
Upon approval of the application, Applicants will be required to attend an in-person interview and sign a Performance Agreement with the government of Nova Scotia.
Eligibility Requirements for Business
To qualify for the stream, the Principal Applicant must have ownership of at least one-third of the business and provide active and on-going participation in the everyday management of the business. Furthermore, the proposed business must:
- Have potential to create significant economic benefit to the province;
- Meet the legal requirements of the community in which the business operates;
- Be a for-profit entity with the purpose of making a profit from active income through the sale of goods and/or services;
- Be considered a permanent business in Nova Scotia;
- If opening a new business, create at least one (1) full-time job opportunity for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Nova Scotia and not related to the Applicant;
- Comply with all applicable federal, provincial or municipal legal, regulatory or licensing requirements that govern the operation;
Purchasing an Existing Business
If the Applicant is interested in purchasing an existing business in Nova Scotia, the Applicant must complete an exploratory visit to meet the previous owners and provide evidence that reasonable efforts were made to establish a fair market value for the business. In addition, the business must meet the following conditions:
- The existing business must have been in continuous operation by the same owner for the last five (5) years prior to purchase;
- All existing permanent full-time jobs must be preserved with commitment to maintain existing wages and employment terms;
- The business must not be in receivership.
Nomination Requirements
Upon successful establishment of the business in Nova Scotia and fulfillment of the Performance Agreement, Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be nominated for permanent residency:
- The business must have been in operation for a minimum of one (1) year;
- The Applicant and all eligible dependent family members must be residing in Nova Scotia.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If the Applicant is a passive investor;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant is prohibited from entering Canada;
- If the Applicant has not been legally admitted into their current country of residence and/or is living in current country of residence illegally;
- If the Applicant is in Canada and is out of status or has been working without authorization;
- If the Applicant is claiming refugee status in Canada or is under a removal order in or outside of Canada.
Acquiring a Work Permit and Permanent Residence
The Entrepreneur Stream is a multi-step process requiring registration and application to the NSNP first. The NSNP will invite the highest-scoring registrants to submit a full application. Upon approval of the application, NSNP will issue the Applicant(s) a work permit support letter which will allow the Applicant(s) to apply for a work permit and begin implementing the business plan and making the required investments.
Applicants must submit an Arrival Report within 60 days after arriving in Nova Scotia on a work permit. Upon successfully operating the business in accordance with the Performance Agreement for a minimum of one (1) year, Applicants may apply for nomination to the NSNP. Upon nomination, Applicants and their eligible family members may apply for permanent residence to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class.
Application Processing Time
Processing times for NSNP applications are around three (3) months or more. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees Class are currently 15 to 19 months.
International Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream
The NSNP International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream is designed for Applicants who have graduated from a recognized university in Nova Scotia or the Nova Scotia Community College upon completing a minimum of two (2) years of studies, and who have started or acquired a business in Nova Scotia. Applicant must have been operating the business for at least one (1) year and have an intent to settle in Nova Scotia permanently.
Personal Eligibility Requirements
In order to be able to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the NSNP, the Principal Applicant must:
- Be at least 21 years of age;
- Have a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit at time of application;
- Have completed a full-time post secondary diploma or degree of at least two (2) years from a recognized university in Nova Scotia or the Nova Scotia Community College;
- Have resided in Nova Scotia during the academic program;
- Have basic English or French language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language BenchArnulf level seven (7) or higher in each category on a valid language test;
- Demonstrate intent to reside in Nova Scotia;
- Own and operate a business in Nova Scotia for a minimum of one (1) continuous year prior to date of application;
- Own at least one-third of the equity of the business;
- Actively participate in managing and directing the day-to-day activities of the business on an ongoing basis;
- Demonstrate receipt of a salary from the business that meets LICO;
- Demonstrate that the business is in sound financial health, is producing revenue and earning sufficient profits.
Upon invitation to apply, the Applicant is required to provide an Audit Opinion and a Special Purpose Report.
Eligibility Requirements for Business
To qualify for the stream, the Principal Applicant must have ownership of at least one-third of the business and provide active and on-going participation in the everyday management of the business from the place of business in Nova Scotia. Furthermore, the proposed business must:
- Have been started as a career objective and not for the purpose of immigration;

- Meet the legal requirements of the community in which the business operates;

Upon review of the application and determination that the Applicant meets the eligibility criteria, NSNP will invite the Applicant to participate in an in-person interview. If the interview is successful, the NSNP will issue a nomination with which the Applicant and any eligible family members may apply for permanent residence to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If proposing to purchase an established business, if the Applicant has not identified the target business, or if the business has not been in operation under same owner for at least five (5) years;
- If the Applicant does not meet the minimum point requirements for any section;
- If the Applicant does not score at least 32 points in the business concept section.
Application Processing Time
Processing times for NSNP applications are around three (3) months or more. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees Class are currently 15 to 19 months.
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
Program
Entrepreneur Stream
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Entrepreneur Stream is designed to support foreign entrepreneurs who are interested in starting a new business or buying an already existing business in Ontario. This stream provides the entrepreneur and up to one (1) foreign national business partner the opportunity to be nominated for Canadian permanent residence upon establishment of the enterprise.
Personal Requirements
In order to be eligible for the program, the Principal Applicant and, if applicable, their business partner must:
- Have a verifiable personal net worth of:
- At least CAD $800,000, if the proposed business will be located within the GTA;
- At least CAD $400,000, if the proposed business will be located outside the GTA or will be in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT)/Digital Communications sector regardless of location.
- Demonstrate at least 24 months of full-time business experience as a business owner or as a senior manager in the last 60 months;
- Make a personal investment towards establishment and operation of the business of:
- At least CAD $600,000, if the proposed business will be located within the GTA;
- At least CAD $200,000 if the proposed business will be located outside the GTA or will be in the ICT/Digital Communications sector regardless of location.
- Have active involvement in the management of the proposed business on an ongoing basis;
- Demonstrate ownership of at least one-third of the business;
- If proposed business will be within the GTA, create at least two (2) new full-time jobs for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- If proposed business will be outside the GTA or in the ICT/Digital Communications sector, create at least one (1) new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- If purchasing an existing business, make at least one (1) business-related visit to Ontario within 12 months of the date of registering an Expression of Interest;
- Not invest the capital in the proposed business for the primary purpose of receiving interest, dividends or capital gains.
Upon approval of the application, Applicants will be required to sign a Performance Agreement with Ontario. The commitments stipulated in the Performance Agreement must be met within 20 months of arriving in Ontario
General Requirements for Business
Along with the Personal Requirements listed above, in order to qualify for the Program, the proposed business must:
- Have the purpose of making a profit from active income through the sale of goods and/or services;
- Comply with all applicable federal, provincial or municipal legal, regulatory or licensing requirements that govern the operation;
- Be considered a permanent business in Ontario;
- Have a place of business in Ontario at all times;
- Submit a business plan demonstrating how the business will provide material economic benefit to Ontario’s economy or to the local economy where business will be located
- Demonstrate that the required number of full-time jobs have been employed for at least 10 months up to the day of submitting the Final Report.
Any third-party investors must be a Schedule I or Schedule II bank or an institutional investor.
Purchasing an Existing Business
If the applicant is interested in purchasing an existing business in Ontario, the business must meet all minimum eligibility requirements listed above, as well as the following conditions:
- The existing business must have been in continuous operation by the same owner or group of owners for the last 60 months prior to purchase;
- The purchase must transfer 100% of ownership from the previous owner to the Applicant, the Applicant’s business partner (if applicable) and/or to any third-party investor(s) (if applicable);
- The proposed business must not have been previously owned or operated by current or former OINP business stream nominees;
- All existing permanent full-time jobs must be preserved, along with meeting the job creation requirement listed in the Personal Requirements section;
- The proposed business plan must demonstrate that the Applicant intends to expand the business;
- At least 10% of the minimum personal investment described in the Personal Requirements section must be designated towards improving or growing the business in Ontario;
Nomination Requirements
Upon successful establishment of the business in Ontario and fulfillment of the Performance Agreement, Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be nominated for permanent residency:
- Have basic English or French language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language BenchArnulf level four (4) or higher on a valid language test;
- Maintain residence and be physically present in Ontario for at least 75% of the time in which the Applicant is establishing the business in Ontario;
- Demonstrate active involvement in the day-to-day management activities in the established business.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record.
Acquiring a Work Permit and Permanent Residence
The Entrepreneur Stream is a multi-step process requiring registration and application to the OINP first. The OINP will invite the highest-scoring registrants to submit a full application. Upon approval of the application, OINP will require the Applicant and, if applicable, their business partner to attend an in-person interview. OINP will then issue the Applicant(s) a work permit support letter which allows the Applicant(s) to apply for a work permit and begin implementing the business plan and making the required investments.
Applicants must submit a Final Report between 18 and 20 months after arriving in Ontario on a work permit for determination on whether the terms and conditions of the Performance Agreement were met. If the determination is positive, Applicants are nominated for permanent residence and may apply to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class. OINP will continue to monitor the business for a period of 36 months post-nomination.
Application Processing Time
There are no set application processing times for the OINP. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees Class are currently 15 to 19 months.
Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)
Program
Entrepreneur Work Permit Stream
The PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) Entrepreneur Work Permit Stream is best suited for foreign entrepreneurs who are interested in moving to PEI to operate a business.
The province has developed a new category which allows communities to endorse the selection of potential Applicants and provide guidance and support for a greater likelihood of successful integration into the community.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to the eligible for the program, the Principal Applicant must:
- Be between 21 and 59 years of age at the time of application;
- Have a verifiable personal net worth of at least CAD$600,000;
- Be able to prove that the funds have been accumulated through legal and legitimate sources;
- Have a minimum education of secondary school equivalent;
- Have transferable management skills and previous employment or business ownership experience;
- Have basic English or French language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language BenchArnulf level four (4) or higher on a valid language test;
- Demonstrate intent to live and work in PEI and be actively involved in the day-to-day management activities in the established business on an ongoing basis;
- If a community endorsement is received and claimed, establish the business in the endorsing community.
Upon approval of the application, Applicants are required to sign a Performance Agreement with PEI.
Nomination Requirements
Upon successful establishment of the business in PEI and fulfillment of the Performance Agreement, Applicants and their accompanying eligible family members (if applicable) must meet the following requirements in order to be nominated for permanent residency:
- Maintain residence and be physically present in PEI for a minimum of 274 days of the year while operating the business;
- Invest at least CAD$150,000 into the business within 12 months of landing in PEI;
- Operate the business for at least 12 consecutive months;
- Provide active and ongoing management of the business from within PEI;
- Provide prepared financial statements noting at least CAD$75,000 in eligible operating expenses;
- Satisfy all other terms and conditions of the signed Performance Agreement.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the information provided in the Expression of Interest Profile is not verifiable or if there are discrepancies;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record.
Acquiring a Work Permit and Permanent Residence
The Entrepreneur Work Permit Stream is a multi-step process requiring registration and application to the PEI PNP first. PEI PNP will invite the highest-scoring registrants to submit a full application. Upon approval of the application, PEI PNP will require the Applicant to attend an in-person interview. PEI PNP will then issue the Applicant(s) a work permit support letter which will allow the Applicant(s) to apply for a two (2) year work permit and begin implementing the business plan and making the required investments.
Applicants must submit an application for nomination after at least 12 months of operating the business for determination on whether the terms and conditions of the Performance Agreement were met. If the determination is positive, Applicants are nominated for permanent residence and may apply with eligible family members to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class.
Application Processing Time
Registrations are valid for six (6) months with monthly draws to issue Invitations to Apply. Application decisions are usually made within three to six (3-6) months. Applications for nomination are usually assessed within two to four (2-4) months. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees class are currently 15 to 19 months.
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)
Programs
Entrepreneur Application
The SINP Entrepreneur Category is designed to attract entrepreneurs who are interested in starting, acquiring or partnering in a business in Saskatchewan to actively manage the business while residing in the province.
Program Requirements
To be able to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the SINP, the Principal Applicant must:
- Meet the minimum eligibility criteria (as stipulated in the Eligibility Criteria section below);
- Complete the Points Assessment Grid;
- If invited to submit an application, apply for and submit a final net-worth evaluation report by the given deadline;
- If invited to submit an application, submit a Business Establishment Plan that outlines the following:
- Plan to establish an eligible business;
- Proof of ownership of at least one-third of the business in Saskatchewan unless total investment is CAD$1 million or more;
- Demonstration of commitment to actively manage the day-to-day activities of the business on an ongoing basis;
- If starting a new business in Regina or Saskatoon, creation at least two (2) employment opportunities for Canadian citizens or permanent residents not related to the Applicant;
- If purchasing an existing business in Regina or Saskatoon, maintenance of the number of existing jobs in the business.
Upon approval of the application, Applicants are required to reside in Saskatchewan and sign a Performance Agreement with the government of Saskatchewan.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Program, the Principal Applicant must:
- Have a verifiable personal net worth of at least CAD$500,000;
- Demonstrate that the net worth was accumulated through legal means;
- Have at least three (3) years of entrepreneurial experience within the ten (10) years prior to submitting the EOI;
- Make a minimum equity investment of CAD$300,000 in Regina or Saskatoon, or CAD$200,000 in any other Saskatchewan community.
Requirements for Purchasing an Existing Business or Business Succession
If the Applicant is interested in purchasing an existing business in Saskatchewan, the Applicant must complete an exploratory visit to meet the previous owners and provide evidence that reasonable efforts were made to establish a fair market value for the business. In addition, the business must meet the following conditions:
- The existing business must have been in continuous operation by the same owner for the last three (3) years prior to purchase;
- The succession buy-out must transfer 100% of ownership from the previous owner to the Applicant;
- All existing permanent full-time jobs must be preserved above the minimum required with commitment to maintain the existing wages and employment terms.
Requirements for Purchasing Existing Business from an SINP Entrepreneur Nominee
Applicants may purchase a business from a previous SINP Entrepreneur Nominee. The Applicant must complete an exploratory visit to meet the previous owner(s) and provide evidence that reasonable efforts were made to establish a fair market value for the business. If the previous owner of the business for purchase is an SINP Entrepreneur Nominee:
- The existing business must have been in continuous operation by the previous owner for the last three (3) years prior to purchase;
- The business must demonstrate a net profit for at least two (2) of the three (3) previous years;
- The previous business owner must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- The succession buy-out must transfer 100% of ownership from the previous owner to the Applicant;
- All existing permanent full-time jobs must be preserved above the minimum required with commitment to maintain the existing wages and employment terms.
Requirements for Joint Ventures between SINP Program Applicants
If an Applicant is proposing a joint venture with another SINP applicant in the commencement and operation of a new business, purchase of an existing business or a partnership with a current Canadian citizen or permanent resident:
- The existing business must have been in continuous operation by the same owner(s) for the last three (3) years;
- All Applicants must complete an exploratory visit to meet the previous owner(s) or business partner(s);
- All Applicants must demonstrate that reasonable efforts to establish a fair market value for the business or investment amount were made;
- Any succession buy-out must transfer 100% of ownership from the previous owner to the Applicant;
- All existing permanent full-time jobs must be preserved above the minimum required with commitment to maintain the existing wages and employment terms.
Upon approval of the application, each Applicant is required to reside in Saskatchewan and sign a Performance Agreement with the government of Saskatchewan.
Nomination Requirements
Applicants may apply for nomination for permanent residency upon meeting the following conditions:
- The Applicant and any accompanying family members are residing in Saskatchewan and maintaining legal status in Canada;
- The business has been in operation in accordance with the Performance Agreement for at least six (6) months.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If the Applicant is unable to prove intent to reside and work in Saskatchewan;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If Applicant’s dependent family members (whether accompanying or not) do not meet requirements related to health and criminality;
- If the Applicant has not been legally admitted into their current country of residence;
- If the Applicant is in Canada and is out of status or has been working without authorization;
- If the Applicant is claiming refugee status in Canada or is under a removal order in or outside of Canada;
- If the Applicant has unresolved custody or child support disputes affecting members of the family.
Acquiring a Work Permit and Permanent Residence
The Entrepreneur Application stream is a multi-step process requiring registration and application to the SINP first. The SINP will invite the highest-scoring registrants to submit a full application. Upon approval of the application, the SINP will issue the Applicant a work permit support letter which will allow the Applicant to apply for a work permit and begin implementing the business plan and making the required investments. The business must be established or purchased within six (6) months of arriving in Saskatchewan.
Applicants must submit a Business Establishment Progress Report no later than 12 months after arriving in Saskatchewan on a work permit for determination on whether the terms and conditions of the Performance Agreement were met. Upon successfully operating the business in accordance with the Performance Agreement for a minimum of six (6) months, Applicants may apply for nomination to the SINP. Upon nomination, Applicants and their eligible family members may apply for permanent residence to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class.
Application Processing Time
Entrepreneur Applications are usually processed within 41 weeks. This excludes time waiting on Applicants to submit a complete application and a completed third-party verification report. Applications for nomination are usually processed within 13 weeks. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees class are currently 15 to 19 months.
Farm Owner and Operator Stream
The SINP Farmer Owner and Operator stream is best suited for Applicants who are interested in moving to Saskatchewan to purchase and operate a farm and who have verifiable experience in farming and considerable capital to invest in a farming operation.
Personal Requirements
To be eligible to apply for nomination under this stream, the Principal Applicant must:
- Have a verifiable net worth of CAD$500,000 that has been accumulated through legal means;
- Make a refundable “good faith” deposit of CAD$75,000;
- Complete a comprehensive exploratory visit to Saskatchewan for at least five (5) working days and meet with an SINP representative;
- Demonstrate experience in operating a farm;
- Submit a practical proposal for a commercial Saskatchewan farming opportunity.
Applicants are required sign a Performance Agreement with the government of Saskatchewan. In order to receive the “good faith” deposit back, Applicants must meet the terms of the Performance Agreement within two (2) years of landing in Saskatchewan.
Eligibility Criteria – Young Farmer Stream
The SINP Young Farmer sub-stream was designed to permit young farm families to establish themselves and their farming operations in rural areas of Saskatchewan.
To be eligible to apply for nomination under this stream, the Principal Applicant must:
- Have a verifiable net worth of CAD$300,000 that has been accumulated through legal means;
- Be under the age of 40 at the time of application;
- Have at least three (3) years of experience in farm ownership, farm management or have practical farming experience;
- Submit a documented proposal for a commercial Saskatchewan farming opportunity that is projected to have at least CAD$10,000 in annual revenue; and
- Have marketable employment skills based on education and experience that will supplement the farming income (an Applicant’s spouse may also fulfill this requirement).
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant intentionally commits fraud during the application process;
- If the Applicant or any family member over the age of 18 has a criminal record;
- If Applicant or any family member (accompanying or not) has a serious medical condition;
- If the Applicant has unresolved custody or child support disputes affecting members of the family.
Acquiring a Nomination and Permanent Residence
The SINP Farm Owner and Operator and Young Farmer streams require application directly to the SINP Farm Category for nomination. Upon receipt of the application and determination that it is complete, the Applicant will be required to apply for and submit a final net-worth evaluation report within 90 days of receiving the report. Once all documentation is submitted and the application receives a positive evaluation, the Applicant will receive a nomination from the SINP. Upon nomination, Applicants and their eligible family members may apply for permanent residence to IRCC to become permanent residents under the Provincial Nominee Class.
Applications may be denied on the following grounds:
- Direct or indirect misrepresentation;
- If the Applicant has a criminal record;
- If the Applicant proposes an ineligible business;
- If proposing to purchase an established business, if the Applicant has not identified the target business, or if the business has not been in operation under same owner for at least five (5) years;
- If the Applicant does not meet the minimum point requirements for any section;
- If the Applicant does not score at least 32 points in the business concept section.
Application Processing Time
There are no set application processing times for the SINP Farm Category. Permanent residence application processing times for the Provincial Nominees Class are currently 15 to 19 months.
